Soon after Jensen Huang(The CEO of Nvidia) announced that the new RTX 3000 series specs and releasing date, everybody is discussing it mainly because of the pricing and performance of the new RTX 3000 series graphic cards compare to the previous 2000 series graphic cards. Jensen stated that the RTX 3070 with a price tag of $499 will outperform the flagship card of the 2000 series, the 2080ti(Brand New pricing at $1200), and the RTX 3080 with even more ridiculous performance, two times the performance of the 2080, last not least, the RTX 3090, 24GB GDDR6X memory, up to 8k 60fps for $1499( $1000 dollars cheaper than the Titan RTX, but have better performance). But is that all true or just marketing strategy. We have to benchmark it to find out the real result. After a week from the announcement, several YouTubers get to have the RTX 3080 from Nvidia to make the review videos. As we can see from this video, Jensen exaggerated the performance of the RTX 3080. While comparing the benchmark of multiple games, we can see that the performance difference between 2080ti and 3080 on 1080 resolution is minor with a performance gap that small, it can be easily ignored. As the resolution increase, the gap gets bigger, and when the resolution gets to 4k with RTX on and DLSS on, the performance of RTX 3080 really dominated the RTX 2080.
